Board Member, Indigenous Nations Poets

Carrie Cornelius (Prairie Band Potawatomi & Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin) curates and promotes Indigenous knowledges and literatures as well as manages safe learning spaces for Haskell Indian Nations University students and their faculty.

Carrie’s library career began as a school librarian in 2000 at Red Rock Day School in the Navajo Nation community of Red Valley, AZ.

A graduate from Haskell Indian Nations University, the University of Kansas School of Education, and Emporia State University’s School of Library and Information Science, her national work on the American Library Association Presidential Advisory Committee was increasing the visibility and representation of Indigenous content, libraries, librarians, and communities. Her scholarship is Indigenous Librarianship and Indigenous Mapping.
